Volunteering for Oasis -

Oasis is committed to having volunteers support its work. Volunteers enable Oasis to give people in the community to opportunity to be involved in services to women and children who have experienced domestic violence in a variety of ways:
  • Fundraising and promotion
  • We are highly innovative and always looking to continuously learn and improve so we’ll be keen to hear your ideas.
  • Campaigning and raising awareness
  • General up keep of the refuge
  • General admin such as filing, keeping statistics etc
  • Direct work with women and young people/children
  • As a member of the management committee
Our volunteers regardless of the type work they do for us help raise awareness about domestic abuse in the local community. It is our belief that volunteers, with their varied skills, complement the work of the staff and enrich the services offered by the organisation.

The function of a volunteer is to supplement the service in a planned and supported way. All volunteers are subject to a recruitment process which includes reference and an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.
